I. Wearing high heels can lead to many foot problems.
A. Wearing high heels too much or for too long can lead to physical issues, including blisters, bunions, callosities, or heel spurs. These shoes can also restrict the blood vessels in the feet, leading to stroke-like symptoms.
B. Due to the small area and the increased temperature of these shoes, damaged or ingrown nails and fungal infections occur frequently when wearing heels.
C. Hammer toe, a condition in which the middle of the toe is strangely bent, is very common for heel-wearers.

Women who wear these shoes often feel knee pain, or develop osteoarthritis, due to the awkward shift to stay balanced. This is one of the leading causes of disability in women today and could lead to multiple surgeries.
C. These shoes can also lead to ankle sprains, due to the bending of the ankles to stay balanced, much like the knees.
III. There are other risks when wearing these tall shoes.
A. The main concern when wearing these shoes focuses on the spine and back. Not only will these shoes cause horrible lower back pain, but they can also alter the arch and cause a warped spinal curve.
B. Like the knees, a woman’s hips must shift forward to balance her weight. This can lead to extreme pain, trouble walking, and, eventually, arthritis.
