High Performance Workplace When an organization wants to introduce the concept of high performance into their workplace, they must reinsure that everyone is on the same page as well as understanding what it takes to make the organization a high performance workplace. Gartner defines a high performance workplace as a physical or virtual environment designed to make workers as effective as possible in supporting business goals and providing value. A high-performance workplace results from continually balancing investment in people, process, physical environment and technology, to measurably enhance the ability of workers to learn, discover, innovate, team and lead, and to achieve efficiency and financial benefit. In a high performance workplace an organization focuses on the individual. The organization is investing in the individual to bring value into the workplace. This person is seen more as an asset instead of a liability. Since the employee sees that they are being valued in their workplace they will be more contented to be part of the organization as well as wanting the organization to succeed. Making the employee feel recognized is one of the ways employees feel valued and part of the organization. Job satisfaction goes hand in hand with a high performance workplace. Given that a great deal is being focused on the individual, one must make sure that they are satisfied in the workplace. If an individual is not content in the environment they are in, they will not be performing at their best ability since they are not happy in their workplace. A high performance workplace introduces the employees to work well with one another as well as make them feel conferrable to contribute. One must also learn how to work with teams.
