The hippocratic corpus were a collection of 70 books about medical stances ( attributed to hippocrates). Hippocrates mostly recommended diet and exercise to cure ailments. Today, when medical students graduate they swear on the hippocratic oath. I will give you a synopsis of the modernized oath. “I swear to fulfill, to the best of my ability and judgement, this covenant: a solemn promise of solidarity with teachers and other physicians, of beneficence and to do no harm towards patients, not to assist suicide or abortion, to leave surgery and surgeons, and to maintain confidentiality and to never gossip.” While reading parts of the hippocratic oath, he states several times in his article to never do harm. Whether that's physically or as I said emotionally (gossip.etc). His number one goal was to not hurt anyone while dedicating his, yours, mines time toward breakthroughs, surgery, or any part of the medical field.
