One thing that I never consider until I read the article was the influence the stakeholders and community can have indirectly or directly when it comes to a termination of a coach. I know when it comes to high school sport parents and the community are really involved, they feel like part of the team and can get attached to the coach and have an opinion that they will voice. Keeping that in mind and being ready to deal with those kinds of situation by letting high management deal with it I feel is the most effective way to handle it. I’m still on the fence about coach being fired of the actions of the student athlete because I feel that you only have control to a certain extent and if the coach has done everything they can do, how can they be held accountable. The student athlete literally has the coach future in their hands. The last thing that stood out to me was controlling the communication once the termination becomes public knowledge. In high school nothing spreads fast then good gossip and gossip can always be molded by the person who is repeating, it is essential to be able to control that and have a statement ready so that the situation does not become something that it’s
