HISTORY BOOK REPORT 1
Dwight D. Eisenhower was not only a remarkable soldier, but also a respectable leader. He’s knowledge and skills had contributed the war and helped his reputation of becoming our thirty –fourth president of the United States. At first, he refused to be president. But sooner when the economy is starting to fail during Truman’s administration, he decided to oppose against Truman. Eisenhower is the first republican in twenty years to be elected in the white house. He was born on October 14, 1890, in Dension, Texas. His parents were David Jacob Eisenhower and Ida Stover Eisenhower. His parents are deeply religious. He has two older brothers, Arthur and Edgar, and three younger brothers Roy, Earl and Milton Eisenhower. When he was a baby, his family decided to move to Abilene, Kansas where his father David is working in a creamery.
During his youth he receives an opportunity to attend in the United States Military at West point, New York. After graduating from the academy, He was assigned to Fort Sam Houston, where he becomes second lieutenant. While he was on off duty at Fort Sam Houston, Met a native Iowan visitor from Denver named Mammie Doud. Later on, they decided to get married and have a child. The death of his first child named as Icky has haunted him for years. Later, Eisenhower had a second son named John. Eisenhower decided to join in the army in World War I. He’s knowledge and theories in tanks by the help of General Fox Conner his career was turned upward and becoming executive officer. He was assigned to attend the Command and General Staff School at Fort Leavenworth Kansas to study warfare and theories. During the war, he decided to return in Washington which he became the personal aide of General Douglas MacArthur. Along MacArthur’s side, he helped MacArthur for planning the Military defense in the Philippines. Despite of their difference, Eisenhower stayed with MacArthur until they took command in the Philippines.

    I liked learning about Dwight D. Eisenhower. He was born was born on October 14, 1890, in Denison, Texas, to David Jacob Eisenhower and Ida Elizabeth Stover Eisenhower.
