WUSHU 武術 WUSHU 's ORIGINS Wushu is an ancient form of Chinese martial arts. Wushu Started off as just a warm up for military exercises and later became a military subject, for close combat battle. Wushu originated in ancient China around 2,500 years ago, which was around the time of the warring period between 770-221 BC Wushu was later on Developed by an Indian monk named Bodhidharma, who taught his meditation techniques to the wushu students. Wushu was originally called wuyi and later became a synonym to wushu.

Around that time there appeared the sport Jiaodi (wrestling) and the Wu (dance and exercise) of Ganqi (axe and shield).
