First of all, home economics is not just for a select group of people. It digs deeper into living in society alone and teaches the importance of staying within a budget as well as keeping good credit. Home economics even goes as far to prepare students for not only jobs like nannies, but occupations going into health and far much more. It is important for students to gain nutritional knowledge and learn how to live in contaminated environments. Also, students should know the logistics on taking care of a baby or even a children for that matter. Not to mention understanding the significance of cooking in a kitchen. Students should know how to put out common household fires and the cause of them as well. Anyone could be put in situations they don’t even know how to handle all because home economics was not taught in school. Carrollton is mistaken for believing home economics should be taught at home. Parents should not be paying for an education that is not even preparing students for real world situations. Students were put in school to learn for adults with a degree in which they are teaching.
