I. Point of View
The group will use the point of view of an operations manager.

II. Time Frame
The case happens during the growth stage of Home Style Cookies.

III. SWOT Analysis
A. Strength
1. Cookies appeals to health conscious segment of market.
2. Cookies are baked in a sequence that minimizes downtime for cleaning.
3. They ensure good quality of cookies.
4. They ensure that the amount of ingredients is accurate since they use computer to determine the exact amount needed.
5. The production process is automated. No manual intervention, except on the packing of the cookies. Giving as the assurance of the accurate content and cleanliness of the product just like the gardenia.
6. They stored an x-ray machine that can detect small bits of metal filings that may have gotten into cookies during the production process.
7. They have minimal amount of scrap.
8. Eco-friendly. Instead of just throwing the improperly baked cookies, they used it as part of production of another product.

B. Weakness
1. The baking company is located in small town.
2. They did not use any additive or preservative that may cause fast spoilage.
3. They employs fewer than 200 people.

C. Opportunities
1. There are number of areas of potential improvement.
2. They can still expand their business to cater a larger market
3. They may use automated process save money and increase efficiency.

D. Threat
1. There can be a sudden change of the taste and preferences of the consumer.
2. When economic crisis happen, they will be easily affected.

How can the company increase its production and improve the quality of the product overcoming their fear of taking risk of accepting different opportunities?

V. Formulation of Alternatives

A. They should add additives and preservatives to certain product if they wish to put it into shelves of groceries and supermarkets.
