America has some of its parts experiencing harsh weather many times in a year. Some parts experience blizzards, whirl winds, hurricanes just but name a few harsh weather conditions. Doppler radar is used to warn people of oncoming storms or thunderstorms or any disastrous weather. As the wind blows, it carries with it moisture, if the speed of wind is high and has a high moisture content, Doppler radar can detect it and the information used to determine if there will be harsh weather. If the wind is strong and humid and its direction is towards the radar then harsh weather is approaching, if it is away from the radar then the harsh weather will not affect the region under observation (Bureau of Meteorology, 2015). The Department of Homeland Security uses information from Doppler radar to judge whether a certain locality needs to prepare for harsh weather thereby advising on appropriate …show more content…
It can be installed with low-frequency radar beams that cannot be easily detected by culprits thus making the arrests that would otherwise have gone without being made. They can also be improved such that they can cover larger distances and maintain efficiency (Sood, 2008). This eliminates the risk of law enforcers being too close to the action such that they risk losing their lives. Doppler radars used for weather purposes can be equipped with sensors that determine among other conditions things like humidity. This ensures that weather prediction can be as accurate as
