The President also acts as the head of state and Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces. The Cabinet of the Executive Branch is responsible for enforcement and administration of the federal laws on a daily basis. Fun Fact: the Executive Branch employs more than 4 million Americans. The President is head of the state and also head of the government of the United States and he or she is also the Commander-in-Chief of the United States armed forces. Due to the 2nd article of the Constitution, the President is responsible for the execution and enforcement of the laws created by Congress. There are fifteen executive departments and each department is led by a chosen member of the President's Cabinet; they carry out day-to-day administration of the federal government. The 25th Amendment deals with the succession to the Presidency and establishes the procedure to follow for filling in the office in the absence of the President. The 25th Amendment supersedes the wording of Article 11, Section 1, Clause 6 of the Constitution and tells what the Vice President becomes the President or Acting President if the real President is to die, become impeached, or quits. Construction began when the first cornerstone was laid in October of 1792. Although President Washington oversaw the construction of the house, he never lived in it. It was not until 1800, when the White House was nearly completed, that its first residents, President John Adams and his wife Abigail, moved in. Since that time, each President has made his own changes and additions. The White House is, after all, the President's private home. It is also the only private residence of a head of state that is open to the public free of charge.…

The President is a head of the state, and he is responsible for representing the nation. His main task is to present the main political ideas and goals of the American people. According to the system of check and balances, the President of the United States needs to report on his agenda as well as the condition of the state. Every year, he delivers the State of the Union Address. Barack Obama was recently reelected; that is why his Inauguration speech and State Address of 2013 is worth comparing.…

As a group, we challenged group bias by discussing the homeless research we had previously encountered. We had all came across viral internet videos of homeless people who were just in the business of loitering and collecting free money for drugs or other unhealthy activities. We became hesitant and unsure if we wanted to help the homeless community because of the negative stereotype. But, Chris brought up a very strong point he said “Well at the end of the day it doesn't matter because no human being deserves to be out in the cold without proper layering. We just will choose not give money instead give them resources that will make a difference in the long term”…

I come from a fairly large city in California so I’ve been around many homeless people throughout my life. I’ve had good and bad experiences when it comes to being around them and dealing with them. My initial view of the homeless is that they are somewhat lazy and that a lot of them are on drugs. I feel this way because I’ve seen and dealt with so many sick, obnoxious people on the streets aggressively asking for money. I always think to myself, if I were in that situation I would find a way. There are so many resources that help people get back on their feet. Instead of begging on the streets, I would go get help. Instead of asking for money, I would ask for help from one of the many organizations so I can find a job and make my own money. However, there is another side of me that is extremely empathetic. This side of me knows that something sad and unfortunate must have happened to these people and that this life isn’t their choice. For example, children that are born into homeless families, people with mental illnesses, and of course people who have been laid off of work.…

The concept of paternalism is heavily evident in most organizations, especially in areas concerning homeless people. While America prides itself as the most giving nation in the world, the idea behind different charities often juxtaposes this ideology. This idea of paternalism has been the practice for most food organizations in order to help the greater community. The notion that an organization should have the authority to disregard homeless people the right of their liberty for the sake of their protection has perpetuated and contributed to the practice of paternalism.…

One that comes to mind is Donald Trump. He is blatently rasist and condems 17% of the United States population. Because is in the top 1% he can get away with it because the members in his social group this behavior is acceptable. The second that comes to mind is the dehumanization of the homeless population. Businesses would rather put down spikes to keep from having people having a dry place to sleep that help and donate to the homeless. The societal problem that I’m studying is Homeless Veterans and how they affect our society. Homeless veterans affect many aspects of society: According to the SLO Homeless web site, the economic impact, operating and maintaining homeless support services programs such as homeless shelters, day centers, homeless medical services and so forth are costly ventures. Is never enough funds to cover every single homeless veteran, this in turn means that many homeless are forced to seek alternate methods of getting their basic needs met. Subsequently, those homeless who cannot find employment will turn to recycling or panhandling as a means of putting money in their pockets. There is also an environmental impact that homeless…

So, logically the whole Executive branch is headed by the President. President also has some specific powers such as, he is the commander in chief of the U.S Armed forces. President can also send troops to a country for 90 days with congressional approval. He also has the power to make treaties with other countries, but the U.S Congress has to approve the treaty. The president has other very important powers too, such as, he can appoint judges for the Supreme Court.…

Dale Partridge once said, 'You were born with the ability to change someone's life, don't waste it." Throughout our lives, most people choose to ignore helping those in need. Despite the situations these people have gone through , helping the homeless can change our community by lowering crime rates, and having hard workers.…

Veterans are an important part of our nation and do not get the credit that they deserve. Veterans have risked their lives for this country countless times, yet they go unappreciated a lot of times. From a personal stance, my grandfather is a retired veteran himself and he fought in the Vietnam War. If my grandfather had not been able to get on his feet from retiring from the Navy, I would hope that there would be some type of support system for him. A lot of veterans today do not have the support system that they had when they were in the service. Once the veterans are out of the service their lives are not structured while in the service they were organized and controlled.…

Homelessness is a pressing issue throughout the entire world. It affects people of all ages, genders, and races. The official definition from Google of homeless is “(of a person) without a home, and therefore typically living on the streets.” People who are homeless usually do not choose their homelessness. In fact, many people are pushed into this status due to many different reasons, such as gentrification or just difficulty finding a job. Walking down the Market Street of San Francisco, a bustling city, one would find many homeless begging, walking, or chatting with other homeless. They each have their own story behind their homelessness, and their own hardships. Women, in particular, have different needs and sufferings; they are more prone…
