Problem Solution Speech
Homeless Veteran’s
INTRODUCTION: How many people have a Veteran in their family or know one? If yes do you help them or is it someone else’s problem. Well many people think it’s someone else problem, but the truth is it’s our problem.
They gave there all for each of us!
PROBLEM: Veterans being let go from service without appropriate long tern help. Leaves unthinkable large numbers of Veterans helpless without knowledge on how to fit back in to the world they left behind, so they become homeless. This problem is out of control.
-The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) states the nation’s homeless veterans are predominantly male, with roughly five percent being female.
-They suffer from mental illness, alcohol and/or substance abuse, or co-occurring disorders.
-These Veterans are not middle age or elderly veterans, they are young Veterans.
-There from the wars of today IRAQ and AFGHANISTAN and they are trickling into shelters and soup kitchens.
-About one-third of the adult homeless population is veterans
WHY: Because we do not prepare the Veterans for the many agencies available to them. Because a person who has been exposited to so much death and depression deal with paper work I think not. I know for a fact distance is what you want and sometime that’s it. Coming home is a high that leaves you quickly when you return, for myself the scheme of what could have happen play over and over. But for so many others the worst did happen, and the horror kept appearing pushing them even further from recovery.
SOLUTION: the solution is to keep that promise given to each veteran upon entering military service. To be taken care of during their servers and thereafter. America’s homeless veterans have served their country now let the country serve them. By making sure their entitlements are meet to the fullest and this can only happen if they know before the fight.
