I believe I meet the criteria for National Honor Society because I have a couple leadership positions, I am active in community service, I am very involved in school activities, and I have been recognized for several prestigious awards. First, I have met the criteria for community service hours, with most of my hours coming in the past couple months. I am the Principal horn for the Sedalia Symphony Orchestra and I am a leader in Upward Bound’s Supplemental Instruction
program. I am involved in numerous school activities including band, SCUFL, Math Club, Science Club, FCA, Community Café, and Academic Bowl. Outside of school I also do activities such as Sedalia Symphony Orchestra and Park Band. My accomplishments in school activities include being a two time All-District Band member, being accepted to the UMKC Midwest Honor Band twice, and lettering in band and Math Club. I also earned awards for being the second best sophomore at the Fort Osage Math Relays and third best sophomore at the Camdenton Math Relays, both contests this school year, along with being the Freshman of the Year for math club last school year. Being a member of National Honor Society will push me to be more involved in helping the community and will also push me to be a leader in more areas and be a better leader in the areas I am already a leader. I hope to help the community more frequently and on a regular basis if I become a member.
