Hope
Hope, a word used all too commonly but not defined very clearly. When someone hopes for something, they wish for it, but they have some idea that their wish might happen. Many things have been accomplished because of hope, people resort to hope when they have nothing else to go to. People hope their mother’s gets better, people hope they get the job, they hope for many things and do not even realize that they make these things happen. People are hope, they determine the outcome of their wishes most of the time, they just have to go out and do something.
There are many things that go along with the word hope, most people think of hope as a wish, but this is far away from the actual truth. People might say “I hope everything is fine” or “I hope I get this car”, but for these things to happen, a person needs to do something serious about it. In most cases the person who is hoping for something actually goes and does something to his situation. For example, I hope my brother gets an excellent GPA, so to help the situation I try and tell him at least once a day to work hard, also if he crosses any difficulties he can depend on me. In many ways such as that where I gave my prime example, it would be one of the ways in which I can influence what I hope would happen. Sometimes things may take a while or they may not even get a chance to have time pass by them, but I am actively trying to always influence the outcome, whether or not everything goes the way I want.
A lot of people knew how to use hope in their favor. They had only one choice, and this choice was to take the path of hard work where hope was its fuel that makes it run. There is no one better to give an example for rather than Oprah Winfrey. In the long days when her mother was absent from the inner city apartment, young Oprah was molested by her male relatives. Her abuse lasted till she was 13 years old. She began her professional life at the age of 17. After hard work in the field of media and

Have you ever been hopeful, even when it seemed your hope was hopeless? Hope is something all humans share whether it be for a better life or for a different path. All humans have something that resembles hope. It almost seems that humans love to tell others how hope has helped them survive troubling times. For centuries mankind has been drawn to literature about the underdog overcoming odds because we as a species enjoy seeing the little guys win. Three pieces of literature in particular come to mind when speaking of hope and how it fills mankind with a fight for survival. The books, Night by Eliezer Wiesel, The Glass Castle, By Jeannette Walls, and Red Rising, by Pierce Brown all feature main characters believing in themselves and…

The hope of others could give hope to many and be a reason to live for some. Misha, an orphaned boy who has been adopted by a family, encounters a Jewish holiday, but since in the Ghetto there is so little, they are forced to make due with what they have. The father says “We ourselves will be the candle flames.”(161). This makes Misha feel happy. “…I could feel my heart getting warm…” he said on page 161. For a hopeless boy like Misha, the optimism of others gives the boy hope. Without the optimism of the people around him, Misha would be a orphan on the streets with no home, no loved ones, and no reason to live. From having nothing but the…

Generally speaking, a lack of hope can push an individual down a dark path of risk-taking, deviant, or even criminal behavior. Hope is a critically important positive mind set for people to possess. When one lacks hope, he or she does not care about much in life. If that type of attitude exists, then what stops this individual from doing things that are immoral and criminal? In addition, not being able to hope for or look forward to particular events in the future might lead an individual to act out against others. Again such behaviors are criminal in nature. And finally, the negativity that is associated with a lack of hope in one’s life may lead this person to act out against others who are seen as the cause of it. Unfortunately, a lack of hope just contributes to the increase in crime in America.…

People may ask, "What good would it be to tire oneself in the uncertainty of waiting for a wish to come true?" Yes, I agree that we would tire ourselves in waiting for a wish which is uncertain to come true; yet we do gain something in the wait. The wait impels us to work hard so that our wish would come true. A very concrete example is a student who struggles hard in his study for the realization of his wish, which is to be a successful professional. If you do not think like this then you are either lethargic or autistic. So, wishes and inspirations are those which lift the fallen, inspire the discouraged, and give life back to those who are dead in their pains and regrets.…
