Healthcare services had been growing rapidly and the expenditure had remarkably increased due to population that is ageing, advancement of technology and the demand for health care. Hospital administrators do face a great pressure in looking for methods to deliver healthcare services effectively and efficiently. According to Ross (1995), an efficiency measure is a tool to assist in healthcare planning and development. The definitive objective of performance measurement mechanism is to support and accomplish the hospital mission, vision and goal. To promote and achieve the hospital’s goal, the evaluation processes need to be done broadly. Proudly I would say that the Malaysia Ministry of Health do play a essential role in ensuring that all the hospital’s in Malaysia regardless public or private maximize and practice secured performance measurement. As a senior nurse I had worked in abroad and when I benchmark our healthcare standards here in Malaysia with other country, I strongly believe that our Malaysia Ministry of Health had set good standards’ in healthcare services. Our standards are compatible with any other countries healthcare services. The published licensing regulations by each country are being inspected to scrutinize the fulfillment of the hospital on criterions such as fire, hygiene, radiation, medical appliance and medication. It aims to stimulate conformity and the minimal prerequisite for safety yet these standards outline the minimal obligations of the hospital in handling and caring the patients which rarely tackle the medical course or hospital output.
