Hour Poem; Creative Writing
Hour

Me and my one true love Anna have been in love for many years, since we were thirteen. Now at the minor age of 18, are feelings have grown vastly for one another. We spend only an hour each day, before sun down, Together. We always settle to meet at the same place. It beholds no name, yet we meet there as its scenery is of a rare encounter. its golden brown trees, and luxurious pure green grass can only be described as bespoke beauty.

Various couples spend time there to be romantic with their partner, and this is the place me and Anna can consume each other with our passion, privately.
Yet as this place is so secretive and unknown to many, it makes our relationship seem as an wrongful amour, yet this encourages us to ensure we spend our time wisely, and talk about our future, our life together so far, and what may become of it.

Time is precious, and time is an obstacle for lovers like myself and Anna. But I find that if the right place is found, for two people whom enchant one another, that time can be used carefully.

We as a pair need no material wealth and possessions to be able to ravish in love, nothing can come against it, breathtaking scenery, and the whole of the summer sky allows us to enjoy our shining hour, and enables us to feel like millionaires as heart.

This precious hour I spend with her, I can't halt myself from ravishing her in kisses, which last for thousands of minutes, I can't help but treasure her love for me, my love for her, and the flowers, the jewels and the cuckoo spit which lays upon the grass. For this to me is what romance is. Without these elements, we in this short hour, wouldn't be able to enjoy this moment in our life, it wouldn't be special. It wouldn't rememberable.

However to my sadness, this hour does end. We must leave the grass ditch which beholds a hall of memories, this is our place, our miniature world, the world Which is around us we forget about, but once we leave we are apart of the chaos. To

In the book why we love, author Helen Fisher attempts to understand the idea behind the human romantic love by studying the mating behavior of animals. Thus, she firmly believes that romantic love is a phenomenon arising from ‘human nature’. Which shows itself in the different forms in the animal kingdom. The book begins by presenting the results of a scientific study in which Fisher scanned the brains of people who had just fallen madly in love. She proves, at last, what researchers had only suspected: that when you fall in love, primordial areas of the brain "light up" with increased blood flow, creating romantic passion. Fisher uses this new research to show exactly what you experience when you fall in love, why you choose one person rather than another, and how romantic love affects your sex drive and your feelings of attachment to a partner. She argues that all animals feel romantic attraction, that love at first sight comes out of nature, and that human romance evolved for crucial reasons of survival. Lastly, she offers concrete suggestions on how to control this ancient passion, and she optimistically explores the future of romantic love in our chaotic modern world.…

“Against Love”: immediately controversy is conveyed by the title of Laura Kipnis’ article on modern relationships. The reader is put on the defensive as Kipnis starts her argument with strong metaphors attacking one of the most basic human interactions that we see as natural and embrace without question. Namely, love, a word held in superposition between complex and simple. Kipnis argues it has been overrated and too much is sacrificed in the pursuit of making it last. Defining her own terms that apply to most relationships such as “advanced intimacy” and “mutuality” she provides a new perspective on old notions. Her tone throughout is consistently sarcastic but make no mistake, Kipnis is addressing a real issue on what we value as a society. Descriptive language is Kipnis’ fishing line that keeps you reading, often creating vivid and objectionable images that no one can avoid cringing at. Concepts surrounding love and the ideal couple change from age to age and from culture to culture but Kipnis doesn’t disregard this. She compares today’s norms to historical precedence as she identifies the shift from focusing on the convenience of financially organized marriages to the achievement of unending life-long love. Kipnis’ article presents a fascinating argument by proposing an idea…

Both poems 'Hour' and 'To His Coy Mistress' present the power time has between two people. 'Hour' is a poem about two lovers who have one hour together and explores the ideas of material possesions and a modern reinterpretation of love. Where as 'To His Coy Mistress' is a poem where the man is trying to convince the woman to sleep with him and exploring the idea of living and enjoying your life whilst your young.…

Love is sacred. The goosebumps painted on the skin are worthless without it. “Last Night”, written by Sharon Olds, is a perfect reflection of how being in love has a profound effect when in relation to intimacy. Olds compares her experience while being in love, to her experience when her feelings for her partner are neutral. Throughout this piece Olds conveys her message with the use of similes, repetition, imagery, and hyperbole.…

The poet also uses imagery such as ‘lakes and ‘swans’, to symbolise the peacefulness, and also to symbolise love. You notice words that show the subject is not alone, with ‘we’ and ‘our’. These words and also the motion of the swans, the lake, and the peacefulness are foreshadowing that the poem will take a turning onto love that is more literate. However I don’t think that the poems theme is so much about love in particular, but about a natural love, a natural pull that brings two people together even after hard times.…

‘Valentine’ is a controversial love poem written by Carol Ann Duffy. Throughout the poem the poetess compares love to an onion and she does that by using a variety of techniques such as imagery, symbolism, word choice and structure. All these techniques justify why Valentine is an unusual love-poem as they help the poet express her different point of view. Overall, the poem is unusual as its title mistakenly leads the reader into thinking that the poem will be typical. I felt deeply moved by the poem’s s ability to arise thoughtfulness and reflexion in the reader.…

What is Love? Does anyone really know the meaning of the word? Does it have a different meaning to different people? In Kipnis’s essay “Love Labors”, Laura Kipnis touches on many different aspects of love. This is a touchy subject simply because love brings out many different opinions and beliefs. Kipnis argues over the fact that in order to have a good relationship and love someone people have to be able to meet certain requirements, which are mutuality, communication, and advanced intimacy.…

In the article, “Love: The Right Chemistry,” Toufexis mainly talks about love related to chemistry. The fact that human species, considered as sexual organs, possess own characteristics contributes to each individual with a unique attraction. The term “love” has created the new way of making it – a sexual relationship. Also, the concept of love nowadays seemingly depends on an individual’s appearance. According to the author, romance is an essential element that leads men and women to long-term relationship; however, the idea that true love remains forever seems to fade out gradually. To exemplify, the author quotes Fisher as saying that each would find a new partner in four years, which reflects in today’s divorce rate. In short, romantic love is not everlasting. Furthermore, PEA, stands for phenylethylamine, is increased in the early of passionate romantic love; the body builds up rapidly as long as we are needed. Essentially, it is a natural amphetamine that stimulates and increases both physical and emotional energy. The attraction causes people to produce more PEA, which results in those dizzying feelings associated with romantic love. However, the amount that our body produces PEA is exclusive in two or three years. Moreover, each person has a unique subliminal guide to the ideal partner so-called a love map, so a man and woman can not fall in love with two people at the same time.…

The Romantic Marriage “thrives on the spark of love that never dies.” In Loh’s essay the romantic marriage is not really a type that can stand all along, it is instead an ingredient that helps the growth of any relationship; and a good judgment of whether the fondness and the interest level is solid and strong or needed some enhancement; It is also the on going process of mutual love progress for one another, not for a moment but perpetually. Loh mentioned that, “I had an entirely manageable life and planned to go to my grave taking with me, as I do most nights to my bed, a glass of merlot and a good book”. Basically she’s saying that the absence of her husband’s romance in her marriage has been replaced by a glass of merlot and a good book most of the night. Romance, in any “good relationship,” should be identifying at any time. However, the romantic marriage, finds its way into Harris’s essay; she describes a couple that believes their relationship is very romantic besides the “trek” on how long it takes them to see each other. Peter Horan 27, and his girlfriend Afton Vermeer 25, feels connected besides the fact they live 14.35 miles apart a distance according to the passage that can be done in 20 minutes drive, yet it takes them three subways and an hour…
