The first source shares only a couple similarities to Frankenstein. First, Victor seeked out the Enlightenment and power through science. He became fascinated with life and death so much he started to become over confident and irrational of the consequences when playing god. Prometheus was also fascinated in life because he sculpted Earth's first human and protected them until he couldn’t no more. He didn’t want power for himself but wanted his people to have the power to protect themselves. “He as Prometheus was, is fascinated by the power of electricity”(Dudczak). Electricity was a major key in human life. Victor created the monster with electricity, but the monster also found a form of light in fire. “One day, when I was oppressed by cold,...I lay on the ground, amd sunk into sleep”(Shelley 68). On, his own the monster found his first experience fire. Like, a curious cat he touches the fire only to be burned learning quickly it's only meant to keep him warm. Just like Prometheus, he showed the humans how to survive with his essential from preparing food to keeping warm. Because of Prometheus’s curiosity and loving towards the humans he paid the price. He was chained to a rock and had his liver eaten every day for enternity. This relates to Frankenstein because Victor loved science too much. First, both stories went against god to create life. Prometheus being a Titan was offered a special position to create life that respected the gods. He went against them by creating strong humans who didn’t need the gods help. Victor took over the role of God by collecting human body parts and recharging them with electricity to form a new life. “I felt the bitter of disappointment...the overthrown was complete”(Shelley 34). Victor became depressed with himself knowing he picked the best pieces but failed losing his fate in science. Next, Prometheus and Victor broke a lot of promises throughout their lifetime. Prometheus promised the Gods they could trust him into creating life for Earth, but he went against it by favoring the humans and getting them what they needed to survive not matter if the items were off limits. “Victor soon realised...breaks his promise with the monster”(Johnson). Victor promised the monster a mate but deceived him knowing more than one in the world would cause havoc. Based on his decision, the monster killed Elizabeth knowing he loved her dearly. Nothing could prepare him enough for her death leading to become alone with tons of regret. He kept onto those feeling for the rest of life as he searches for the monster, but instead he could share his mistakes with a man in search of one thing like Victor was. Prometheus experienced being alone on the mountain
