How Can Thomas Edison Invented The Electric Lightbulb Without Help?
Every person has different views and opinions. Many times people are closed-minded and don’t see other people’s point of view. It is very important to see a situation from another person’s point of view because it makes you a more diverse person. It can be hard to see other people’s point of view sometimes. It is even more difficult when that person has nothing in common with you. It can get very frustrating when you have an idea and another person’s idea totally contradicts yours. We have to embrace other people’s differences because I believe it makes us more diverse. As leaders of the future, we have to be diverse in order to be more complete people. Do you think that Thomas Edison could have invented the electric lightbulb without help?

“When we learn to welcome and appreciate diversity instead of just tolerating it, new ideas will rapidly take flight and old, unworkable ideas will rapidly evaporate” (Sampson, 2013, p. 124). What Sampson is saying is that there is a difference between accepting and tolerating diversity. Let us say that you are the leader of a project in your company. There is a Hispanic employee in your group and you feel slightly uncomfortable but you say nothing. He is pitching in multiple ideas for the project and you listen respectfully but you take none of it into consideration.…

In my studies I have found confirmation of my belief that diversity in the United States will only improve with time as the increasing number of interracial unions increase. I have also affirmed my belief that so long as society chooses to put people into groups we will always have issues surrounding fair treatment of people from all walks of life. It is the collective mentality that harms our nation the most. So long as people are divided they lack the strength to overcome governmental intrusion into their personal lives. So long as “we the people” are divided we will continue to see attacks on various groups of people, rather than the peace that unity can bring.…

Diversity in the united states in not something new here but in fact spans back many generations. Diversity is everywhere and no one can truly get away from it, but by accepting it a person can learn how to lead a better fuller life with variety of understanding for the people that come in contact with. I feel that the biggest thing I learned in this call about diversity is not that there is diversity but that there is a lot of work to be done to farther the peace action between the groups of people knowing this make me realize that the us is not yet a unity but is trying and gives me more will to make my voice heard that we need to start accepting one another.…

    Appiah Contamination

Kwame Appiah talks about, we must wrestle with the idea of diversity and its value. We cannot expect people to be the same, we cannot enforce it upon people either, and it’s completely unethical to do so. Why do we value diversity so much? Do we secretly fear the overly globalized world of the future and the identity crises we will face there? What will our lives be like and will corporations annihilate our individuality once and for all? I don’t think that’s the case. Humans are innovators, creators, and regurgitators but we never spit it back at you the way you gave it to us. That is the secret behind change, especially cultural change. Culture, which is by definition, the shared beliefs system of a people applied to all aspects of shared and personal life within that people, depends on the participation of the individual. One person in any given culture is always the unit of measurement in that culture by which you are able to understand and measure the culture. One person can change and so the culture at large has begun to change or diversify or evolve. What makes us change, what drives…

What is meant by diversity? It is defined as the state of having different varieties. Our world are filled with different kinds of people. People are often judged by their religion, skin colour and basically the education they received. Whenever there are misunderstanding within diversity, it would only lead to one thing, war. Perhaps we may never taste the bitter experiences of war but history has shown us that whenever there is war, there will be sorrow. People have to cope with the feeling of having to loss someone they love and live in fear. Imagine if one day, the happiness you built in several years snatched away from you in just one day, your life would never be the same again. It is evident that harmony within diversity must be nurtured and cherished so that peace will stay the same as it has for many years.…

    diversity in america

It has become common today to dismiss the culture and ethnic diversity that we have in the United States of America. This paramount nation was founded on a basis of diversity, freedom and equality for all without admiration for a government that controls our thoughts, views and opinions. Americans today tend to believe we are equal and have rights that set us apart from other parts of the world but as we come close to election time this year, we see the inexpiable and unequal treatment that is still present today. Some of our basic civil rights are not completely equal and the belief that we live in a democracy and equal nation we call freedom isn’t a fact but rather observed as an opinion or a belief. Civil rights and equality is what our founding fathers created this nation on. Although times have changed, political views have changed and our diversity has grown, there is much to be achieved in the diversity and civil rights for the American people. The diversity in the United States has grown over the decades with a large amount of immigrants migrating to this country creating influences, changing legislation and allowing us as Americans to grow and learn about people. The more understanding we have as a nation about cultural differences and beliefs, the more we as a nation can create the life, liberty and justice with equality for the people of our nation. President Barrack Obama said once in a speech “There is not a Black America and a White America and Latino America and Asian America; there 's the United States of America” (Notable Quotes, n.d.). This is the core values of diversity in society today. We as Americans must set the precedence and standards on diversity and moral basic human as well as equal rights for the world. We are global leader in creating a melting pot of peoples of all races, creeds and beliefs in order to form a…

These differences are what creates diversity and adds richness and color to our world and “…is a major component in the social glue holding a culture together. What we want to do is simply recognize that we do have prejudices arising from our ethnocentric view of the world” (Devry College, 2013, Week One Lecture, Para. 10). There is an old familiar saying that you never know a man till you have walked a mile in his shoes. This is so true and it can be easy to forget that beyond our obvious differences, we are all…
