filled with pictures, posters, and a neat class with the intention to open their eyes and learn. Another key that makes a teaching environment enlightening, is the motivation used in the classroom. Prizes, fun, and games wake up the students and makes them get competitive with each other, filled with eager to answer the next question. Similar, the variety of activities also make an excellent class for the students. Students are used to completing their worksheets, or just copy the answers from a friend on a daily basis. But in an educated environment, they will be able to actually learn by having multiple activities such as group projects, or hands-on stations. To have a great didactic environment, teachers should bring up new ideas into their classroom for the students’ own good. Classroom appearance is very important in a didactic environment.
Organization, pictures, educational posters, and inspirational quotes are all things that make a good classroom impression, or appearance. The ninth grade Biology teacher at Galena Park High School, Ms. Jensen, always had everything settled for class to start. The days the students had a lab to do, she always had everything well prepared and ready for the students to start once the bell rang so they did not have to waste a minute. Her classroom was always very organized, there was not a day where her room would have a mess that the students had to clean up. The french teacher, Mr. Yenga, has his classroom filled with colorful posters, that have many different translations of objects, seasons, and colors. His posters are always great help the days the students have pop quizzes, or even tests. He also has a huge french flag, and by the book shelf an Eiffel Tower that makes everyone who steps in the class want to learn and speak french every day. But the thing that the students love the most, is the board he has dedicated to leave or pick up a posted note. It is used for people to write “inspirational quotes” to make their classmates want to come to class with a good mood, ready to
learn. All these objectives help the teachers create a great intelligent environment. Another improvement, is the amount of motivation in a class. Ms. Fickessen, the English I teacher, had a huge “wall of fame” that motivated students do great in their work so others could admire it. There were numerous of students wanting to receive nothing but A’s so they could get a chance to see their work with a gold star hanged up on the wall of fame. There was also another time with Ms. Fickessen, the students had to read the book Romeo and Juliet, but no one really wanted to read it. So to make it interesting, she had a masquerade contest, and had everyone in partners, where they each had to dance the next day as they read the chapter that occurs at the ball. Making the classroom environment fun, increases the teaching and learning that goes to the students. The variety of activities make a good quality classroom environment as well. Such as online work, group work, projects, or hands-on stations. Ms. Dugan, the French I teacher, was not very much good at teaching, but her activities made everyone want to learn. Every day before a quiz or test, she had the class play an online activity called Kahoot, and it would refresh everyone’s mind before the test, giving the students a chance to pass the test. In the French III class with Mr. Yenga, the students had to learn about different french painters, and paintings. Not a single student paid attention to his lectures, so he had everyone get into groups and have them chose a famous french painting, made by a french artist, and present it to the class, This project helped everyone, this way they got to learn from different points of views, and different backgrounds of all the artists that were chosen. For Biology, the first week of school the students had to learn about safety equipment. So for this, Ms. Jensen had different sections, or stations, with different safety tools, and equipment each with the correct information and rules. Students had 7 minutes at each station, where they had to fill in the blanks in a worksheet that she had given them and write a mini scenario for each. This made people understand the use of each tool, so every student could be in a safe environment next time they had a lab. It was a great use of time, since all the students were able to learn so much in such little time. A classroom with a didactic environment is more likely to be successful than any other classroom. In order for a class to have a great teaching environment, it takes a few steps, or sets of things, that at the end will be worth it for every classmate that is willing to learn with new techniques. Organization, educational pictures, and posters, will catch the students’ attention providing them with all the necessary help they can get in order to achieve academic goals. Motivation as well, is a main key to keep the students going forward so they can soon bloom into incredibly successful graduates, Without different activities, students will not be able to adapt into new perspectives or have the chance to change their ways of thinking. With these possible sources, educational statistics could have a chance to increase and improve students’ association with teachers, and classes. Classroom appearance, motivation, and various numbers of activities to improve the surroundings of a classroom, creating a spectacular environment
