In this paper I will be talking about Abraham Lincoln, his life before presidency , life through election , while he was president , and his death.
Abraham was born on February 12 on Sinking Spring Farm in Kentucky. As a child he helped his father around the farm with planting corn and pumpkins. At age seven his family moved to Indiana Abraham he learned to use a axe and he helped his dad with building a new cabin and clearing out the land. When Abraham was nine his mother died from a disease called milk sickness Abraham was terribly sad at his mother's death so he continued to clear the land to take his mind off her death. But even the hard work could not make him forget his mother's death. At age ten a school opened up from down the road from where Abraham lived Abraham attended the school on weekends and whenever he could. The summer Abraham was nineteen he got a job taking a flatboat supplies down the mississippi river to New Orleans. Abraham got many threats from people to end his life or hurt him but he ignored them all. On april 14, 1865 Lincoln and Mary went to a theater Lincoln told his wife that he was the happiest he had been in months for a little while Abraham and Mary laughed and talked. Then toward the end of the play a southerner John Wilkes ran up behind Abraham’s booth and shot him in the back because he felt like slavery should have continued. They carried Abraham’s body to the house next to the theater and laid him down he was unconscious and the doctor’s said he wouldn’t live. Though Lincoln died his memory and ideas lived on. In the years after the death of Abraham the people wanted to remember him so they built the Lincoln memorial in honor of Abraham they carved his most famous speeches his Gettysburg address , and his second inaugural
