How Did Abraham Lincoln Considered A Rebel?

Abraham Lincoln once said, “I walk slowly, but I never walk backward.” Abraham Lincoln was successful in setting slaves free. Even though it took a great amount of time he never coward down. Abraham Lincoln is considered a “rebel” because he took a stand in what he believed in when no one else would. Abraham was born in February 12, 1809 close to Hodgenville, Kentucky, U.S. and died on April 15, 1865 in Washington, D.C. He was the 16th president of the United States of America from 1861-1865. Within those four years he had accomplished many things. The biggest one was freeing the slaves. He thought that no matter the religion or color of a person they shouldn’t be treated as dirt, they should be treated as equals. ("Abraham Lincoln"). In Lincoln’s early life he lived in a very small cabin with his dad, Thomas Lincoln and his mother, Nancy Lincoln. His only memory that he could recall as a child is his home, specifically a flash flood that washed away the crops that he and his dad had planted.
At the age 21he was 6 foot 4 inches tall. He was rawboned but muscular and physically powerful. He was noted for the skill and strength and he could wield an axe. He was good-natured and spoke with a backwoods accent. Lincoln had no desire to be a farmer so he offered to clear out and fence in his father’s land. Then he was a flatboat man where he traveled down the Mississippi River, to New Orleans, then to Louisiana. He then settled in Illinois in a village named New Salem. Then he worked time from time as a storekeeper, postmaster, and surveyor. He volunteered in the Black Hawk War. There he was elected captain of his company. He lost his first battle so, then he was repeatedly reelected to the state of assembly. Then he was going to do blacksmithing but, he decided to go into law school.
