How Did Eumaus Return To The Swineherd
When I was returning home from a journey, the goddess Athena warned me to not return to the palace, thinking on those words I chose to retreat to the home of my swineherd, Eumaeus. Like a father reunited with his son after a while, he expressed his worry and relief that his son has returned. Though there was a guest, a beggar to be exact that happened to be at Eumaeus’ hut at the moment. Eumaeus requested that I would take care of the beggar temporarily. But all of a sudden the beggar walked out without much reason. Sooner or later, the beggar walked in, but in a different form, the form of a young, strong man. He claimed to be my father, but I couldn’t believe it due to the manner of his change. After explaining, he asked me to describe the suitors which I did. With the description of those despicable suitors, he forged a plan which is the perfect revenge. Our first phase was for me to return to the …show more content…
This only indicated that it’s time to act and avenge the dignity of this island. As planned, Eumaeus and Philotius locked all the gates so the suitors wouldn’t have a chance to escape. Eurymachus started claiming that this was Antinous’ idea and that all of the suitors would pay back everything they’ve taken, but father didn’t care for that offer. I was already sick and tired of these suitors so I proceeded to kill them. First one I removed was Amphinomus, personally it was easy, I didn’t need weapons for that. But for the others I would need a blade to reap them, it seems someone has given them weapons. It all seems right though, the seer saw blood stained all over the walls, so it may have implied that they were all going to be killed. Eventually after all the fighting, I brought out Eurycleia and all the women, all the fighting is over, now they can come

The United States woman between 1776 and the 1860’s varied greatly in the ways they went about achieving the ideals of their time. Both sought to better themselves and their families for the over-all betterment of their nation, but neither went about it in quite the same manner as the other. Also race was becoming less of a social barrier than it had been in the 1770’s, which is not to say, however, that it was not a significant stopping power at the time for non-whites and many immigrants from Europe, especially the women. The ideals were similar, but the ways of achieving them were very different in the 1860’s than in the 1770’s, and much more innovative for women’s status in society outside of the homestead. (Doc. Odysseus ordered the women to clean up the messes of the dead suitors, and then gathered them up for their own execution. What these people did may have been wrong in the eyes of Odysseus, but that’s insanely cruel. He could have just sent them back to where they came from or banish them from Ithaca. There are an endless amount of punishments that would have been more sufficient, but like any enraged ruler from this era, he killed dozens of innocent people…

When the time came to make his move, the suitors where locked into a single chamber with Odysseus and Telemachus there as well. Here Odysseus shows an even darker side to his power hunger after some of the suitors plead for mercy: “Antinous was the ringleader, he whipped us on to do these things…spare you own people” (1269, 942), and with no compassion Odysseus murdered all that stood before. None of them where armed and held no threat against Odysseus. Odysseus then went on to see his faithful wife and to know that his power hunger and lust lead to all of his crew to…

In addition, Odysseus slays the dozens of suitors plaguing the halls of his palace. After returning to his palace in Ithaca, he commences a bloodbath. He begins by shooting the villainous Antinous through his neck. The text describes that “The point passed clean through his tender throat...His life-blood gushed from his nostrils in a turbid jet.” (Homer, 329) Odysseus begins to take back his right as the master of the palace. The lifeless state of Antinous stresses his looming wrath. In spite of the suitors’ attempts to bargain their wealth for being spared, Odysseus asserts the punishment which they deserve for their crimes. He says “...not if you made over all your patrimony to me...would I keep my hands from killing until you Suitors had…

I am enraged that you slaughtered me and my friends. You cannot use your rage caused by one person, Antinous, as a reason to strike hundreds of us down. Before you killed me, I was trying to tell you that the person incited this whole mess was Antinous. After you killed him, there was no need to turn your fury on the rest of us. The worst part is how you did not even intend for us to have means to fight back, your idea was to set us up so you could slaughter and torture us and we would have no means to respond or defend ourselves. In Addition, how could you have killed every single one of us if you have no firsthand account of what happened while you were away, all you knew was what Telemachus told you. You were so naive and enraged that you…

The most important key to success, especially in music, is repetition alongside with determination. This is probably the most difficult part of the entire process, because it entirely relies on your efforts. Preseason is the time in marching band where your willingness to work hard and repeat the same drill over and over again will either bring you success or failure. After the first couple sweat drenched days of preseason, my enthusiasm began to lessen, as thoughts about giving up surfaced upon my brain. It is not easy to wake up every day at 7 in the morning and end the day at 11 at night and keep enthusiasm, but the energy of everybody else around me helped me realize that it can be accomplished. I could have given up and quit, but that would have been taking the easy way out. If everybody else can make it through this week, so can I. So I pushed myself to my limits, tried as hard as I could, did the drill over and over, marched until I was sore, and then kept on…

It all started on a dark, rainy day on the island of Thrinakia. I visited this island many times over the course of the year, and had the pleasure of viewing it every day from my chariot in the sky.
