Everyman depicts the outcome of living a worldly life. “Everyman can also be read as an affirmation of the life lived before death and the need to balance each against the other, preparing for death in the middle of life” (Hadfield). Death can be a time of happiness and also sadness for different individuals because without knowing if a family member, spouse, or even friends are rooted within God, individuals might begin to sense sadness because that individual never knew about God. The reason why Everyman went to seek out Confession was because Everyman knew that he had to confess and ask for forgiveness or Everyman would be going to hell.
