Another thing that FDR did to help creep the nation out of this terrible depression was close all of the banks until Congress would pass the Emergency Banking Relief Act. Once this new program was passed, a majority of the banks that had been closed were open within a week. While all of these things were happening, FDR gave constant radio addresses to the American people, which helped him to slowly reinstate the public’s confidence. While still in his first “Hundred Days” in office, Roosevelt came up with something that helps make him one of the best presidents. The New Deal, which includes some of the most important programs that helped the U.S. out of the Great Depression, was put into action.
