History praises Christopher Columbus for his discovery of the Americas in the 15th century. Though, he was not the first explorer to reach the Americas his voyages led Europe to explore, conquest and colonize these lands. While it is true that his voyages had an immense effect on the historical development of the Western world, little is told how this was accomplished.
