Johnson and Johnson was founded by 3 brothers over 125 years ago. In 1886 Robert Wood Johnson, James Wood Johnson, and Edward Mead Johnson began the company in New Brunswick, New Jersey but it wasn’t until 1959 when the company developed its significant presence in the pharmaceutical industry. The 3 brothers were inspired to start Johnson and Johnson in order to create a line of ready-to-use surgical dressings.
