Martin Luther King Jr was a african-american civil rights leader, and baptist minister. He is best known for giving african-americans rights. And, his famous speech “I Have a Dream”. He was born in January 15, 1929 and died in April 4, 1968. And, he was born in Atlanta, Georgia. His father would whip him daily. His father was also a civil rights leader and a minister. Martin was a straight A student. He even skipped a few grades. At first he didn't believe in his faith and wanted nothing to do with it. But he later changed his mind. He changed his mind when he started going to bible school. He told his father on his plans to become a minister.

He also became a pastor that same year for Dexter Avenue Baptist Church. That’s how he started big as someone in the church “community”. In March 1955, Claudette Colvin, a black fifteen-year-old pregnant schoolgirl in Montgomery, refused to give up her bus seat to a white man to stand up to the Jim Crow Laws which were local regulations in the south that enforced racial segregation.. King was on the committee from the Birmingham African-American community that would look for the case, because Colvin was pregnant and unmarried, President Nixon and Clifford Durr decided to wait for a better case to get at.
On December 1, 1955, a woman named Rosa Parks was arrested for refusing to give up her seat on a city bus.The Montgomery bus boycott, planned by Nixon and led by King, soon followed. The boycott lasted for 385 days, so it was a lot of time and the situation became so bad that Martin a United States District Court ruling in Browder vs Gale that ended racial segregation on all Luther king jr’s house was bombed. King was arrested during this campaign, which concluded with
Montgomery buses .King's role in the bus boycott made him famous in the civil rights movement.
