Odysseus has a lot of perseverance, and that is how he achieved his goals. First, Odysseus demonstrates perseverance by being the only one who survives on the ocean. As a matter of fact, “Odysseus alone survives” (Homer 937). This shows the theme statement because Odysseus achieved his goal of making it…

To allow Odysseus to get into his home without being recognized Athena disguises him as a beggar, and then as his plan continues he begins to slaughter the suitors. If Athena had not helped Odysseus by causing the suitors to miss their target each time they attempted to fire back at him, then he would have surely been dead fighting against so many puissant men. Without her constant help Odysseus would have never persevered through these tasks he so brashly went through, including this one. Making Athena the true hero of this story.…

The hero’s journey is defined as a chain of stages that all heroes are likely to go through. The story of Perseus is one of the best narratives that explain well the phases that the hero is likely to pass. The first stage according to Campbell is a call to adventure. The story of Perseus takes us back to the reign of a king known as Ancrisius, whereby the king had a beautiful girl called Danae. According to the story, prophesy from Apollo informed Ancrisius that on day Danae’s son would kill him.…
The Greek heroes Heracles, Jason, Perseus and Theseus are all intriguing characters of Greek mythology. They each portray many different qualities and compare and contrast each other. For example the fact that Heracles was constantly a target of Hera and Theseus a target of Medea links them as characters. Also, Heracles frees Theseus from the chair of forgetfulness which also makes them similar. Even further, Perseus is from the city of Argos which happens to be where Heracles’ family is from as well. Another similarity between Heracles and Theseus is that they attack the Amazons together and both tend to rid the lands of certain monsters. Heracles also worked together in the Argonaut crew with Jason. All these heroes also tend to share great…
To begin with, Perseus could overcome his hatred for his grandfather who wanted him executed from earth. Although his grandfather put him through much pain and suffering, Perseus was willing to put out the flames between them. Edith Hamilton states on page 207, “He made Dictys king of the island, but he and his mother decided that they would go back with Andromeda to Greece and try to be reconciled to Acrisius, to see if the many ears that had…
Their brave, courageous, and boldness personalities is what makes them be consider heroes. Theseus saved the Athens from a dangerous monster the Minotaur’s, who was creating chaos by eating the seven man and women who enter his cave. On the Other hand, Perseus was the only person to be able to defeat the Gorgons and cut the head of Medusa. In additions, another characteristic that Perseus had that made him a great hero was his intelligence because he manage to cut medusa head without looking directly at her, knowing that if he looked at the Gorgon, he would have been turned into stone. Both of this man besides being heroes they were also consider demigods because Perseus was the son of Zeus, and in the book Classical Mythologies, it was said that there was a possibility that Theseus was the son of Poseidon, which might be the reason why both Perseus and Theseus are consider great heroes in Greek Mythology. These scenes demonstrate that readers should not be afraid to take risks, because when they are doing something positive most likely, would have a good…
