decided what area about himself that he was going to change, his attitude towards life. Prince James had a rough patch in his life the last couple of years and never could find that true happiness that it seemed everyone had around him.
That being the case, Prince James hated everything around him, and he was angry all the time. James knew that to right himself, to make himself better, he needed to learn how to not be angry all the time and bury his emotions when it counted the most. Because if he did not, it would be his greatest downfall and he knew he would regret all the anger and hatred when he grew old and could not have those precious moments back. He decided to start with the most difficult aspect because he understood when he took care of that problem, all the rest of it was
easy. Prince James set out to rid himself of anger and hatred, he started with what made the most sense; what made him happy? Once he figured out what made him happy and would never cease to present happiness to him, he could tackle his anger problem. Prince James realized that his friends did not make him happy, his family supported him, but angered him frequently. He realized that sports and accomplishment made him happy. Prince James loved to participate in many athletic activities, injury was known to happen, nonetheless, he enjoyed it. He loved competing against other people, it excited him and he had the will to win anything. Prince James also loved accomplishing goals, it made him feel good, and happy to know he has produced anything with his life, no matter how small the achievement was.
The handsome prince began the journey to his own mental clarity after he honed in on what created happiness in his life. Those feelings of anger and depression were clear once he found out that, everything in the world, all the bad feelings, pass. Prince James remembered a quote his father shared with him in his early days as a young man. Whenever he was angry or sad, he just had to remember, “This too shall pass.” His father’s quote means that all negative situations in the world: Pain, anger, depression, in the world will pass over like the waves of the ocean. Prince James knew that, everything will pass, including his own anger, depression and pain, just as long as he believed in himself. Negativity would cease to complicate his life if he believed in himself and in his father’s quote. Prince James worked on improving himself in the many ways. He strived to becoming the best prince that a princess could ever want. James did this, not so he could be with a princess, but simply so he could be loved by a princess, or anyone for that matter. He only wanted to feel loved by someone who he knew that he could spend the rest of his life with. A difficult portion of bettering himself was allowing himself to branch out and try new things, he knew that any princess would want him to. It was only difficult because he remembered all the times he had been burned, it hurt to branch out, but he was a better prince, and a better man, because of it.
The handsome prince became a better man, he was finally happy with himself and he loved himself. He was ready to love someone else, he was ready to find his princess. James realized that his happiness came from what he loved to do. His outlook and attitude on life changed for the better once his realization as to what brought joy to his life and remembered what made him the happy prince he was as a child.
The kingdom of Bly’s prince was working with his brothers one day in the woods. These men were hard working, when they had to be. All of the workers liked each other and worked well together, even though there were a few that some did not like for various reasons. The men worked with each other and those around them to achieve one common goal, to present their work with great pride to those who pay for their services. When their work is done well, people enjoy it. When it is not done well, people are angered because they pay for what the men do. James is one of the leaders of the group as he is one of the best workers and has worked at the same company for many years. Prince James was working with his best friend one day, he suddenly felt an urge rush upon him like the tide of a tsunami, he felt that he knew that his princess awaited him and he knew where he had to go to find her. This could be the life changing experience that he was looking for. He would finally have his princess.
James started out on his quest for the castle of the beautiful Princess Rose. It was not that far away, he could arrive there in just a couple of days. He worked his path through the woods, he had never been to the castle before, but he almost knew the way like it was a carefully drawn out map engraved in his mind. There was sheer darkness at times, especially at night because of the trees covering the moon. Then there were brighter times on the path, the contrast reminded James of the path of his own life, there were more dark times than bright in recent memory. That is what makes the bright times so much better, because he could see what was ahead of him, similar to his travels on his path to the princess’ castle. Prince James exited the forest, and there sat the biggest building he had ever saw. Princess Rose was inside that castle. He had a mile or so until his journey was complete, he had to navigate hills, brush and a river. Luckily, the river had bridge over it so he sprinted with excitement across the bridge to cross the river. That was his last obstacle, and it was not a difficult one.
James strolled slowly toward the castle, he did not want to activate any boobytraps. He recalled his mother telling him, “If you ever find yourself in a castle courtyard, there will be boobytraps to stave you away, and or kill you.” The Prince looked around trying to spot where a boobytrap might have been, it was difficult as the courtyard was pristine, the ground seemed to have nothing buried under it. He was caught up in locating a potential boobytrap that he never paid attention to his proximity to the castle. His body slammed into the castle face-first.
“Typical, that’s how I always do things, why am I such a klutz?!” he exclaimed to himself. He was then faced with a new problem, he had to find a way to reach the highest room of the tallest tower in the biggest castle he had ever laid eyes upon. He thought about climbing, using the bricks as steps, that would not work because there were not enough bricks sticking out to grab and climb. That was the only idea he could think of because he had no other ideas, he was hopeless once more. He looked up toward the sky, he saw a ladder, woven with beautiful red roses descending towards him. The ladder landed and he understood what the ladder was for, this was what he had been waiting his whole life for. He made the final climb to finally meet his princess.
