Qin Shi Huang was the first emperor of China. He was the one who unified all of china by defeating the other 6 states named Han, Zhao, Wei, Chu, Yan and Qi. In his 35-year reign, he made some of the most amazing construction work ever. Many people believe that the first emperor of the Qin Dynasty was one of the most amazing rulers in the world’s history.
Before He Ruled
Apparently, according to a few legends Qin Shi Huang was never actually King Zhuangxiang baby and was actually the son of a wealthy merchant named Lu Buwei. The merchant sent the Queen Zhao as a gift to the King and later she became pregnant, but it is believed that Qin Shi Huang was actually the son of the wealthy merchant and Queen Zhao. Qin was born in 259 BCE. The baby, born in Hanan, was named Ying Zheng. The King believed the baby was his own. Ying Zheng became King of the Qin state in 246 BCE and when his father (the King) died he changed his name to Qin Shi Huang.
Beginning of His Power

Through the years Lu got more and more scared about what the King might do to him and in 235 BCE Lu Buwei committed suicide by drinking some poison. After he died the king, at the age of 24, had full authority over the kingdom of Qin. Qin Shi Huang started to get more and more frightened that he was going to get murdered so he banished anyone who was foreign inside his court encase they were under control of one of the other states.
