The article “Who was Shi Huangdi and what area did he rule?”, stated Qin improved China by creating a wall known as The Great Wall of China to protect the civilization. “Shi Huangdi ordered the joining of several earlier walls on China’s northern border to be unified and to be into a single system of walls to protect the empire from attacks from the north.” When he built the Great Wall of China, this made China much safer than it was before because the wall surrounded
many parts of China. This was useful because if there were bandits coming from a different country they probably would not be prepared to climb over a humongous wall. Along with building the Great Wall of China, Qin conquered even more of Ancient China’s goals by supporting it’s government and making it stronger. The article stated, “Legalism influenced the government of the Qin Dynasty.” “During his reign, Shi Huangdi followed a philosophy called Legalism. Legalists believe that humans are essentially bad and selfish, so a ruler has to enforce strict laws with harsh punishments to create his order.” When Qin was influenced by the thought of introducing legalism, he made his government stronger. Strong enough to protect China and enough to unify China with other countries. Unifying China with the other countries made life easier in the Ancient times. This was because no other country would wish bad upon China or start a war with China. Qin ended the warring states. “The Warring States period ended when Shi Huangdi and his forces defeated the other states and unified the people of China under the Qin Dynasty which Shi Huangdi ruled as its first and only emperor.” So what happened was seven major states were fighting for power. Qin was thinking with the thought of taking care and protecting China. Qin used his knowledge of legalism and unified China with all of the seven states. This act made China a well known country and an ali to most.
Obviously, Emperor Qin improved Ancient China until the end of his time ruling. Still, even today, we are influenced by Qin’s actions. Emperor Shi Huangdi did improve China and evolved China into what it is today.
