It all began in 1492 when Christopher Columbus discovered America.
Columbus changed American History because he basically introduced the Europeans to America. He didn’t only find the United States, but he also formed many other nations. Also, his discovery allowed the colonization to begin. He set everyone exploring, and this is one of the major event that reshaped America. Not only that, but he also unlocked a new world of trade and started the Age of Exploration. Another major reinvention that shaped America was the American Revolutionary War beginning in 1765 through 1783. The American Revolution reinvented America, because it directed to the founding of America. Additionally, after the American Revolution started, there were several documents that were drafted. The two documents that were drafted were the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. These two documents supported the Constitutional rights as well as arranged the foundation for a powerful democratic government. America was also able to create its own laws and regulations after the American
Revolution.
The Civil War also played a part in reinvention. After the Civil war, it put an end to slavery as well as formed equal opportunities for us citizens. Abolitionists assisted in ending slavery. They help increased the national sin of slavery. In addition, it brought the whole nation together. Before the Civil war, America was divided along the state and sectional lines. Another way it changed America is because it made the national government superior to the state governments. The Civil war also affected reinvention by making us become an industrialized nation. We need a strong national government to protect ourselves with taxes, to open new trading opportunities outside the nation and to provide transportation and communication network required by business. After the Civil War, the United States quickly became the primary economic power in the world.
Another event that caused reinvention in American History is the Louisiana Purchase in 1803. How this changed history was that after the Louisiana Purchase, Thomas Jefferson basically doubled the size of the land in the US. Also, it formed an opportunity for westward expansion and improved conflict with the Native Americans. Next, it transformed the statement of what states should be a free or a slave state.
