Let’s start back in the the 20th century. In the early 1900s America was at a time of rapid transformation. People were thinking “what can we change” and “how can we create a bigger and better America?” Even though they didn’t have iPhones or the internet they were creating new technology. Radios, washing machines, the Assembly Line, dishwashers, and vacuums are everyday
objects to us, yet to people of that time, radios and vacuums were new and exciting things. Technology was a huge change for the U.S, but over time society changes as well.
Society is an ever changing thing. From different attitudes or clothing, it’s usually different every decade or so. I’d say the most noticeable changes are in fashion. For example the ‘70s, ‘80s, and ‘90s. We went from hippy, to over-the-top, to super baggy clothing in a span of just 30 years. Attitudes can also change with society. In the early 20th century people were optimistic and hopeful because they were making new changes. Then civil rights came up and society was split into two: people who supported blacks and those who didn’t. There were two different attitudes towards that subject. Moreover, fashion and bad attitudes were an issue so we changed them!
Once again I believe that America is a place of change. From colonization to the 2016 election, America has been through good times, bad times, and horrible fashion that has shaped how we live today. I’m sure there will be a whole lot more revision to this great country. But for now, we just have to be the country that (most people) know and love: The United States of America.
