Columbus’s voyage is a subject that has been taught to every student since kindergarten and earlier. Technology is one of the basis of modern society that we cannot even dream of living without. We rely completely on our smartphones, laptops, and global positioning system, GPS. However, the idea of combining our technology, that we find common and essential, and the first voyage of Christopher Columbus, an event that occurred hundreds of years ago, is not something that would occur to many people. The thought of Columbus’s voyage, a thing in the time we think of as disgusting and dirty, and our modern smartphones is not and idea that comes naturally. Technology would have had a major impact on Christopher Columbus’s voyage to the new world by actually sending him to India, shortening his travel times by weeks, and improving the quality of life of the men on board of Columbus’s ships.
