They did this by taxing their people, especially the third estate. The people needed a new way to get out of debt without making their people poor, unfortunately, their monarch decided to keep taxing them. “Increased indebtedness arising from loans to the American colonies during the American Revolution” (French Revolution). "The National Guard was placed under the command of the Marquis de Lafayette, a hero of the American Revolution" (French Revolution). As a hero of America’s revolution, this gave the people some better experience; Lafayette was also part of the Nobility, 2nd Estate, which gave them even more power and money. He helped them get ideas for enlightenment. With all of this help, they were able to get a pretty good start, and it was looking good for the 3rd
