How Did The Haitian Revolution Gain Independence
Haiti/Saint Domingue suffered suppression due to the Europeans but eventually gained independence through the Haitian Revolution. The French were intrigued by the extensive resources, killing many of the Native Americans that resided there. They began to import African slaves to work on sugar mills and plantations. The lives of these slaves were full of despair and exhaustion. Their grueling work in the field was life threatening. Majority of slaves didn't have the liberty to follow Vodou nor enjoy any aspect of life. Refusal to follow any instructions resulted in savage punishment.
