The renaissance was a cultural movement that began in Italy. It sparked a rebirth of classic learning and knowledge throughout Europe. The found out that everything was a lie. The common people were pissed. They had been paying the church for nothing. This is what started the Protestant Reformation
King Henry VIII was also a big part of the Protestant Reformation. He was the king of England. He had been married more than five times but all he had were daughters when he wanted a son. He wanted to divorce his wife and marry someone else for a son. He went to the church to ask but the priest said that Catholics do not divorce. Henry got mad and took over/created his own church.
After he had taken over the church, he changed the rules and finally divorces his wife. After a while, he got married for the sixth time and finally had a son. His son, Edward VI, was only nine years old when Henry passed away. Even though he was really young he became the king of England. Edward was too young to rule England himself so the people who took care of him basically controlled everything. Somehow he died at the age of twelve and King Henry’s daughter, Mary Tudor, became queen. She also passed away after being queen for only five years.
