The first battle of the Revolutionary War was the Battle of Lexington and Concord. This fight was the battle that Paul Revere was famous for. Paul Revere was famous because he warned the villagers about the british. His famous words “The British are coming the British are coming”. In this battle the English retreated. So the Purists won. Purists were the normal people like you and me that fought in the War. the first colony was the Colony was Roanoke. This colony failed, this colony failed because after the founder left for about a year back to the motherland or England and came back there was no one left and all the buildings were destroyed. There were many theories on where the people went like one saying that hey were killed off by other clans or tribes. That was the first try. The second try was the colony of Jamestown, Jamestown did survive and made Virginia.Virginia was the first colony. Virginia was founded in 1607. Next, Massachusetts, it was founded in 1620. New Hampshire was a third colony founded 3 years after Massachusetts in 1623. Maryland was founded for profit in 1632-1634. Connecticut was made for someone to make profit or start over their life. Rhode Island was founded 29 years after Virginia. Then came Delaware, North Carolina, South Carolina, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Georgia. These 13 colonies were the starting point of America as we know it
