How Did The Second Industrial Revolution Influence The Economic Development Of America

At the 19th century, America had its second Industrial Revolution. After this second Industrial Revolution, the industrial of the America got unprecedented development, such as the productivity. Productivity as one of the most important element of a country. It laid the foundation for the economic development of a country. Before the second Industrial Revolution, the American people used to focus on light textile industry as the main industry development. However, the American people transed their focus from light textile industry to heavy industry. For this reason, electric, chemistry, petroleum, and coal mines, etc, started coming out one by one. From the beginning of Thomas Alva Edison discovered the new energy---electricity and invented light bulb. The range of using electricity got extremely increased. After the discovery of electricity, petroleum and Coal mines, became the new energy instead of steam. The petroleum and Coal mine, start appearing at cars, ships, and plane, etc. This promoted the transportation development of the America.
Although new energy promoted the transportation development of the America but it also bring some problems.
As the requirement of petroleum and Coal mine, start increasing, another problem appeared at same time. This problem also influence the world that we are living now. Since the huge requirement of petroleum and Coal mine, they cause atmosphere pollution. When using these new energy, soot, sulfur dioxide, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide and other harmful pollutants will be produced. It also pollute land and water. For this reason, people had to use flashlight in the morning while they are walking on the street. Also many people and plants got poisoned by the pollutants. Because of the water pollution, some country banned caught fish in the
river.

Second The industry life today gives people convenient and fast lifestyle. More and more new industries are coming out like new life in the spring. These new industries change people’s life a lot in many different way, such as working, traveling, farming, education, etc. However, they also bring more problems to people, such as poor and rich differentiation, urban population expansion, housing congestion, environmental pollution, etc. How do new industries change people’s life? People have more choice for traveling. Many people can own a car in 21st century. Whenever they want to go out to have dinner with their friends, most people can drive to the restaurant. If someone doesn’t have a car, he can also choose Uber or Metro to get the restaurant. People can also take planes or ship to travel further. When people need to contact with others, they do not need letters anymore, people can call by using their phone or send email to others. By phone calls or emails people can contact each other easier and faster. On this side the development of new industries give people lot of convenience, on the other side these new industry bring more pollution. When we travel with our car or take plane, these new transportation will discharge huge amount of poison gas. The poison gas will pollute atmosphere and cause greenhouse effect. The greenhouse effect will melt the glacier and increase the sea level. To help this kind of problem we can plant more trees to help dissolve the poison gas. The most direct way is taking more public transportation instead private transportation.
