Abstract
“Jefferson fought for his country. But he did not fight with a gun or a sword. He fought with words” Meet Thomas Jefferson by Marvin Barnett. Thomas Jefferson was born on April 13, 1743 in Shadwell, Virginia. His mother was Jane (Maiden name Rudolph) Jefferson and Peter Jefferson. At the age of 2, they left Shadwell for Tuckahoe, where most of his family lived. All his life he valued learning and always wanted to. They went back to Shadwell when he was 9, where he pursued a passion in horseback riding.
Peter died when Jefferson was just 14, and he inherited a lot of land, money,cows, pigs, horses and slaves. He stayed in school when he could quit and went to college at the age of 16. After that, he became a lawyer, and later then became the youngest burgess in the United States of America. He then

He’s helped us be able to have the life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness that we have today. He fought for our freedom and won, he helped us get away from Great Britain. If it weren’t for him, we wouldn’t have some of the things we have today.
Jefferson also helped the United States of America grow in size by twice the amount, without killing anyone, and that’s amazing. He’s a very successful man in his lifetime. Jefferson was very intelligent, friendly and cared about everyone, everything and making it better. He had a good heart and good intentions, as everyone looked up to him for advice and as an idol.
Thomas Jefferson was also a burgess in Congress, Secretary of State, and a sage. That’s an honor to have, it says a lot about him as well. Thomas Jefferson is more than just a man, he’s the father of our Declaration of Independence in the United States of
