How Did World War 1 Impacted America

World War I was a time full of positive and negative things for many. American was impacted in many ways during the War. There were 3 circumstances which led to the shift in America position because of the entrance of World War I. And finally, how our policies are now different from before when this war was just beginning or during that time, Isolationism is the main one. As I mentioned, World War I impacted America in many ways. For example, on Monday, May 19, 1919, women finally had the right to vote. And each candidate competing from each country/state needed to have at least ¾ votes. WWI suddenly changed America's support for the law (women had the right to vote) and men were off to fighting and women had to be working. Women wanted to make their own decisions during that time.
They had a decision to resume a policy of the unrestricted submarine warfare. It was called the “Zimmerman Telegram” which was intercepted by the British. Than Germany proposed to Mexico at that moment about the alliance. The unrestricted submarine warfare was a desperate war effort of the British wanting to create a Blockade for Germany. Another fact is that Germany had been trying to convince the U.S. into joining WWI and they did end up joining. Other reasons aside of why they entered WWI was because of Arabic Crisis, Submarine Warfare, British Propaganda, “Peace without victory”, Russian Revolution, and the economic ramifications. Germany had a proposal to Mexico of alliance. Germany wanted to make war together, peace, generous financial support. They also had an unrestricted submarine warfare. Germany also wanted to invade the U.S. through Texas. When America found out about the document that Germany had proposed to Mexico they probably felt unprotected, angry, curious, and worried.
