Since Americans had money to spend after the war, they were able to attend baseball games, go to drive-in theaters, and even go to amusement parks. America’s national sport changed during this time period with Jackie Robinson as the first African American baseball player to play in the major league. Furthermore, racial discrimination increased during and after the war. A large number of African Americans served in the war and they were treated worse than at home. Those who served in the war faced segregated units, inferior equipment, and were given undesirable duties. Some African Americans who lived in the North faced extreme racism when stationed in the deep South. After the war, many minorities and African Aemricans returned to their home and country where they still were not granted full rights amd freedom.
