Does free speech give people the right to use hate speech? I choose this topic in particular because I feel very strongly about this and feel it's a good discursive topic to argue my point.
The points that I'll be talking about in this essay are:

-who are mostly victims of hate speech
-why people argue hate speech shouldn't be banned
-why I think hate speech is wrong
-how hate speech can turn to violence
-stereotypes from hate speech
-how it will effect younger generations
What is free speech and what is hate speech?
Free speech or freedom of speech is a human right which means your free you express your opinion without having to fear punishment. Free speech can be found as a human right under article 19 of the universal declaration of human rights. Free speech can also be restricted, governments have an obligation to prohibit hate speech if any free speech expressions are restricted they must be set out in a law that is clear for everyone to understand. People argue that hate speech can't be defined as one thing. By banning hate speech there is ways of undermining democracy because democracy only works if people believe there voice counts and being restricted to only saying what's aloud isn't really free speech. There is also an argument that not all hate speech is meant to promote hatred it's just people using there right to voice there beliefs. In 2007 James Watson claimed the DNA of Africans is different from us leading him to claim "there intelligence is not the same as ours" and that blacks are basically genetically intellectually
