How Does Racism Still Exist Today
Does racism still exist today? Many people nowadays are still racist today and doesn’t understand that we live in a world where all races are together. It’s not black or white or white and hispanic, it’s everybody. If people centuries ago overcame blacks not being slaves and segregated anymore than people in this world today should do the same. With everything going on in ferguson, and other places we should be more sensitive about what we do and say to people. Especially to younger people because they’re going to grow up thinking it’s ok not to like a certain race or be rude to them. We should stand up to people who still have a racist perspective and show them that everybody should get along. People might be racist today is because the shooting of blacks by white cops, tradition, and people’s perspective. …show more content…
Many people think just because a black person died because they got shot by a white person it’s racist. People have a valid reason for it because in Ferguson when Michael Brown got shot for just jaywalking across the street, it seemed that the cop just killed him because he was a threat. Also when TrayVon Martin got killed by George Zimmerman because he thought he was suspicious. All these valid points lead to racism and when the people get released from jail or no action is taken towards them it seems that nobody cares what happens to black people. It’s not only blacks that’s getting mistreated, it’s also mexican. A woman went to the grocery store and got racially profiled “When the clerk at the store asks me for an I.D. card when I use a credit card after I've just seen the three white women in line in front of me use theirs without being asked for the same thing, it's racism”(Young people and Racism). Therefore we need to take a stand and teach people just because a certain person of that race acts crazy doesn’t mean they’re all the

The amount of racism that still goes on today is sickening. People just can’t get along and too soon it turns into violence. Everyday, people get killed because they’re a certain color that others don’t like. For example, an African-American man got dragged by the back of a truck by three white men just because they hated black people. The black guy was innocent and did nothing wrong but these white men didn’t care.…

The year is 2023 and racism is still prevalent. It still exists in western civilizations and throughout the “civilized” world. Although, it may not look like racism of years past that consisted of slavery, lynching, exploitation, or brutality towards people of color. Today it is carried out in a much more covert way that is a lot more subtle in nature and least likely to garner attention (Bonilla-Silva, 2003). Being an overt racist will attract too much unwanted attention and potentially make one a target of discipline.…

When asked if racism still exists in the world a common answer is,“No, how could we be racist when we have a black president!”, but even an extremely well educated man such as Barack Obama the President of the United States sees every form of racism on a day to day basis. Racism today is not a concept that just low class uneducated African American 's struggle with, this is a concept that everyone in the world struggles with. Racism will never be truly abolished from the world because it is a part of humanity that is instilled in us at a very young age, racism towards the “different” and the “other”. Racism is the belief that all members of each race in the world today possess characteristics or abilities that pertain specifically to that race, especially to distinguish it as inferior or superior to another race or races. Although, some people do not have any issues at all with the concept of racism; majority of people living in America deal with racism in their everyday lives. Racism and discrimination have been used as powerful weapons encouraging fear or hatred of others in times of conflict and even during economic downturns. Within our country, I see a number of problems we face on a daily basis. An enormous problem we are facing that is becoming out of hand is the issue of racism. In the past few months, there have been quite a few instances of racism being the cause of death. The case that sticks out the most in my opinion is the Charleston church shooting. A white man entered a historically black church and opened fire, killing nine people, one of whom was a pastor. The man who shot those innocent people was a racist individual who had no respect for his fellow Americans, or for his Lord. He walked inside a place of worship to kill people solely because of the color of their skin. That act of hatred in unacceptable under every circumstance. I fully believe in…

Numerous amounts of humans are dying from the riots and fights because of the racism spreading around like a disease. As of now, racism means to start fires, light other souls on fire causing massive amounts of death, or even break and destroy small buildings. The real racists out there have corrupted and twisted the definition of racism around and are attempting to use it to fulfill their murderous, bloodthirsty needs. Graff claims, “Slavery meant a complete disruption from the African's land, people, language, and customs.” A great deal of African Americans believe that since this happened to their ancestors, then they get to kill, loot, and destroy anything they want to. Other races are using reverse-racism to seek out revenge for their ancestors and to do about anything else that they desire. Racism in America has caused and still is causing corruption in the United States Government. The government is only doing one thing about the unnecessary killings of African Americans throughout America, and that is just sitting in their chairs making money. There is a solution to this complication and that is to replace certain government members with humans that will actually do something about this racist epidemic.…

One example of this is during the “Hero of Civil Rights Movement” of 2010 one individual shouted the “N” word at the representative. Also there have been multiple cases of people wielding racist signs and spitting on African Americans during events, etc. There has even been a song written trying to offend other races and just throw them under the bus. We are still surrounded by racism everyday.…

Racism is one of the most important and one of the most widely discussed topics around the world. The reason for this is that it happens in all different ways and severity. Racism is defined as “prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on the belief that one's own race is superior” and because of this it is used by many as a form of fear and is seen as a way to gain dominance and is seen in many big events such as in World War II when the Nazis killed a bunch of different minorities, specifically the Jews. Racism is experienced in different severities depending on the situation and location because in a lot of areas different color skin is seen as a bad thing and most of the time because it is different and people are scared of what they are unsure of.
