How Does Weaknesses Help Lsw's Student Council?

What are two strengths you have? How can these strengths help LSW’s student council? What are two of your weaknesses? How can student council help you grow in those areas? I used to be what some might call a shy child. In elementary school up until 4th grade I spent recess sitting alone, not interacting with others. I never worked toward doing what I wanted to do. Never standing my ground. Thankfully, I have grown in my ability to stand my ground. One of my strengths is being strong willed. Character matters to me and being determined to achieve my goals, to chase my dreams, and to never let someone make my decisions for me. This is not to say I never change my mind on issues. My next strength is also tied into something I struggled with when I was young; communicating in an effective and efficient way. Today, I am very proud of how far I have come with my communication skills. I came to America from the Ukraine before entering elementary school. I entered kindergarten with little to no knowledge of how to speak English. I took ELL up until I was in 4th grade. I was never confident about the way I spoke English, I did not want to sound like a foreigner or like the children around me. I strived for better than that. Now, fifteen, my speech is absent of an accent, and I have been taking Diff English classes for many years now. Over the years I have learned to love to talk to others. Consequently, I make an effort to hear what others have to say. In fact, this year I joined the LSW Debate Team, an activity primarily focused on communication and presenting your argument instead of purely stating facts and statistics.
