How Has The Age Of Exploration Changed American Culture

The age of exploration revolutionized the world and everything changed. The United States was founded because of the age of exploration and the European Explorers affected our future as a country. New crops were discovered and made available to the wealthy Europeans. The explorers found a whole society full of indigenous people and converted most to Christianity. They also introduced new technologies that were foreign to the natives. Europeans explorers changed the culture of the indigenous people by converting them to Christianity, bringing over European crops and introducing new technologies, doing this, affected our future as a country. As you can see, Europeans changed the culture of the Americas in very significant ways.
When the Age of Exploration happened, Europeans brought many new crops to the Americas and gained many new crops. The
Christopher Columbus is usually the name that comes to mind whenever someone mentions natives being converted. He enslaved inhabitants of the West Indies and forced them to convert to Christianity and abandon whatever they had done before the Europeans came. Another example of this is when Cortes conquered the Aztec Empire. When he overthrew the emperor, his Spanish men started the gradual process of converting them all to Christianity. However, when the Spanish made the Aztecs convert, they believed that they were saving the Aztecs souls, so they could go to heaven and not endure hell. While Columbus and Cortes were converting the Aztecs and Native Americans, Francisco Pizarro was tackling the Incas. Pizarro’s men massacred the Incas and the ones that were saved were forced to convert to Christianity after Atahualpa was murdered.
