The troops were tired and so were the citizens. They needed a morale boost. So, governments, such as, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany censored the mail being delivered to citizens and soldiers to keep important information about the war a secret from other countries, from its citizens, as well as its soldiers. This kept citizens and soldiers of these countries confident and content. It led to them fighting better and having hope. By keeping their plans for their next moves in the war private these particular countries stopped other countries from getting ahold of that information and getting an advantage against them in the war. The line between what is justifiable to censor and what is not justifiable to censor is a line that when crossed often leads to citizens being deprived of their fundamental human rights.
