How Long Does The Swing Of A Pendulum
Weight, length and angle of the swing of a pendulum will be the star of this chapter. First, I will describe how the weight of the bob in the swing of a pendulum affects the amount of swings that a pendulum can swing in a certain amount of time. If the bob is light, like a penny or a paper clip, the pendulum can swing a large amount of times because the pendulum does not have a lot of weight to carry at the end of it. If the bob at the end of the string is heavy, like a half-dollar or a quarter, the pendulum cannot swing as many times as it could with a smaller bob because the pendulum has a lot of weight at the end of the string, which weighs and slows the swing down to a lower and slower pace. The weight of the bob is a very important variable in the testing …show more content…
If the length of the pendulum is short, maybe at around seven centimeters, the pendulum can swing very fast because the length is not weighing down the entire pendulum mass. If the length of the pendulum is long, at around 85 centimeters, the pendulum cannot swing as fast as it could with a smaller length because of its large length. The length is too long, which is causing the pendulum to swing slower and slower, unlike the result of a smaller pendulum, which has the ability to swing very quickly back and forth because the small length is barely weighing down the entire pendulum. Finally, I will talk about how the angle of the pendulum swing affects the amount of swings a pendulum can swing in a certain amount of time. If the pendulum is swung side to side, it makes no difference than it would as if it were to be swung back and forth, because both are at an 180º angle. If the pendulum is going to be swung at a 360º angle, or up and down, the pendulum will barely swing, or it might even cease to swing because it is going exactly up and

1 Two critical ingredients required for cellular respiration are glucose and oxygen. Cellular Respiration, process in which cells produce the energy they need to survive. In cellular respiration, cells use oxygen to break down the sugar glucose and store its energy in molecules of adenosine triphosphate (ATP). Cellular respiration is critical for the survival of most organisms because the energy in glucose cannot be used by cells until it is stored in ATP. Cells use ATP to power virtually all of their activities—to grow, divide, replace worn out cell parts, and execute many other tasks. Cellular respiration provides the energy required for an amoeba to glide toward food, the Venus fly trap to capture its prey, or the ballet dancer to execute…

Based on our results, I feel the period of oscillation will increase at 1m. At .30cm there is a prominent change in the average period when the length of the string increased to .50cm. The same result can be seen in the when the length of the string is increased from .50cm to .70cm. Following this pattern, we can speculate that the length of the string affects the period of oscillation.…

When the mass was increased from 430.31 to 1475.65 with a 85 spring stiffness the frequency decrease. That further explains how weight is inversely proportional to frequency. On the other hand, when spring stiffness decreased the vibrational increases showing that frequency and vibration are directly proportional. Table A2 shows the vibration of molecules with atoms of different masses. The first molecule was water with a total mass of 18.015g/mol.…

Mass impacted the period of the pendulum because it the value of T didn’t drastically change even when we tested the extremes. when we did 10 cycles of 350 and 500 the period of T in sec stayed the same at 1.675s. Angle impacted the period of the pendulum because the two angels we tested 30 and then 10 for 30 the period of t was 1.406s and for 10 the period of t in sec 1.425 during this we can clearly see there was an increase. Length impacted the period of the pendulum in the best way because this is where we saw the numbers decreasing as we shorten the string we started with the length of 61.2 with a 1.675s period T and ended with the length of 22.5 with a 1.084s period T. Some of the errors that may have resulted in such error include…
