How To Be a Creator, Not a Victim
How you can be a creator and not victim relies on how well you can mentally handle situations that don’t turn out the way you would have liked it to go. It takes a lot of mental attitude to not blame something for your situations outcome. A victim will protect themselves by saying whatever they think that will help gain approval, picture a kid that agrees with everyone but doesn’t say how he/she feels. To be a creator, don’t be scared of your inner critic. Sometimes what you are thinking to say out loud just might help you with whatever you are going through. Unlike victims, creators don’t blame others to protect themselves from failure and disappointment for their own faults. To some this maybe the logical thing to do, for example, teenagers do this a lot no matter what goes wrong. They feel like they’re not the reason for bad outcome but rather someone else is. A creator will take responsibility for their wrongs and try and figure out the next time if this happens, what he or she should do to prevent it. Creators express their upset feelings and thoughts in a way where they still have a good supporting relationships with their friends. They will say something like, “I am angry that you didn’t show up to the computer lab to work on our psychology like you said you would last class period”. He or she didn’t blame their classmate on the importance of the psychology test, but rather he or she expressed how they feel. If you’re scared of asking for help let’s say in a subject your struggling in, a creator knows they can’t reach their goals and dreams by themselves. Asking for help will get you to your goals faster, and help you in the subject you’re having trouble with. It will also allow the professor to know how to help you pass instead of thinking that everyone is doing okay if nobody has asked for help. By adding these things to your daily life, this can help improve your relationships and sometimes replace the ones that you thought were good with better

Many people tend to blame others when things go wrong in their lives while most of the time they themselves are also to blame. To most, pointing fingers at others may seem much easier than taking the responsibilities of one’s actions. From Puritans’ point of view, everything that happens in life is pre-determined so they accept it as part of God’s plan or God’s way of chastising them. However, in post-revolutionary America, people are less religion oriented and more concerned about freedom and living a lavish lifestyle. Their belief in free will is much stronger, therefore they often explain problems as one’s own fault or others. In Hannah Webster Foster’s The Coquette or The History of Eliza Wharton that was published in 1797, we can see that…

Next, imagine that he begins to blame people of your nationality for the loss of the war. He convinces the masses that the country must be cleansed of all Jews, homosexuals, priests, gypsies, people with disabilities, and more.…

A victim blames everything and everyone but themselves for their own incompetence. They try to do “good enough” to get what satisfies them or someone else and do not try to think of alternate ways of solving problems that prevent them from doing what they need to do. A creator knows when they are in the wrong and will openly admit to it like a mature person would. They have no problem having to think of alternate ways of solving any problem thrown at them, and generally shoot for better than “good enough.” Both creator and victim mindsets have their benefits and their downsides, although the creator mindset’s benefits far outweigh the victim mindset as a whole.…

The main theme is humans can find it emotionally difficult to conform to society, but usually end up doing so. The meaning of this theme is that we all want to do things that are practical to society even if it feels wrong in our hearts. The main driving component which draws people too conformity are the desire to be accepted in certain status groups. People fear that if they do not conform to society, they will be breaking the social contract, therefore be rejected by society at not being able to achieve their personal goals. Our identities are formed by us as individuals, but also by the world we live in and the other people who inhabit it. The media, our friends and our families all influence us in one way or another. For example, most of us follow the latest things or culture’s trends such as how to dress. This is important in most teens in our society because they don’t want to be judged and talked about in the general public. The media and the opinions of our peers are both things that we consider important. Even though most of us won’t admit it, we all want to belong. We want to be accepted by everybody, so to fulfill this desire we perform things that are against our will.…

Many people feel trapped by their lives. They have responsibilities they don’t want, or lack the opportunities that they think they deserve. When life feels this way, it may seem limited and small. However, this is just an illusion of the mind. In his book A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life’s Purpose, Eckhart Tolle informs readers that in reality, life is unlimited if we discover who we really are and identify our true purpose. Tolle explains that we are really one with the universe, and since the universe is infinite, so are we. Therefore, in order to find peace and contentment, we need to see that the self and the universe are unified.…

At the age of 3, I started the Initiative vs Guilt stage. I liked to play with my cousins and other kids that lived nearby Sometimes my parents and I went to visit their brothers or sisters. Since they all had kids, I was able to play with them. When we went to a place to visit who I didn’t know and they had kids, I always asked for my parents’ permission to play with the kids. I felt that if I just go and play and didn’t had my parents’ permission, I was doing something wrong. My parents also always try to correct my wording, if I said something the wrong way. There was one time that they bought me flash cards so I could keep expanding my vocabulary. They also bought me a 5 piece puzzle so I could start solving problems. When I was 5, in the…

I have learned that asking for help only produces benefits. In turn, this has helped me develop the confidence to overcome certain fears. For instance, during the summer, I participated in the ELAC-LMU Undergraduate Research Scholars Academy, which was a ten day residential program of intense research. My research focused on Environmental racism. Even though it is nerve-wrecking for anyone to present in front of a large group, it was even more nerve-wrecking for me because of my disability. Thanks to the advice of teachers and family members, I was able to do speak in front of everyone without any mistakes. This has shown me that I am a resilient person who does not give up easily. This experience allowed me to get of my comfort zone because besides presenting among my peers I was presenting in front of administrators and faculty members like I mention before this opportunity not only help me express my thoughts but it also help me to seek more…
