Lost And Found In the Psychosocial Dimension According to the famous writer Mark Twain, “The only thing worse than not getting what you want is getting it”. Five maybe six Years ago I was Caught in an Emotional Distress Because of a bad relationship with my father and it affected my Psychosocial Dimension. The Psychosocial Dimension has 4 of the major six categories of a healthy life-style. If you master all four which include: Emotional, social, spiritual, and mental health. What I wanted was to develop a relationship with my father and to better my self as a Young man. , In order to do that I had to stay optimistic and try new things and also sacrifice the bad such as not having a great but respectful relationship with my step father and becoming a master in all four elements of the Psychosocial dimension. Growing up as a little boy, I always wanted to get my step father to like me very much but nothing I tried seemed to work. Sometimes When He would play his video games such as NFL Madden 2003 he would simply say “No”. That really hurt my feelings in which I just wanted someone to look up too. Often times I would even root for his favorite football team the Tennessee Titans when I was really a Green Bay Packer fan. I really wanted to develop a good relationship with my father because growing up as a young boy I didn’t have a father figure present. My father died in his sleep at the age of 40 due to a seizure in his sleep. I had no sense of direction or someone to look up too. But I wasn’t going to let that stop me from being survivor in this world .Throughout all my adversities and obstacles the people in my life today, along with taking responsibility for my actions and realizing someone is never going to just give u anything. U have to earn it, those things raised me into who I am today. For Example, at the age of fifteen I attended Paul Revere Middle School most games I

My life can be closely related to the life of Wes Moore’s. Even though I did not lose my father at a young age, the admiration for my father is just as big as Wes’s. When I was a toddler, I wanted to be just like my father. I tried to do almost everything that he did. I even appreciated some of the things that he liked and did, so I could be just like him. While growing, I hit a stage where I started to think that being like my father was not such a good thing. I began thinking that I didn’t want to be like him at all, because he was a big disciplinarian. I thought that once I reached adulthood, I would be too hard on my children if I followed in his footsteps. As I continue to mature, I’ve noticed that he does this to bring out the best in me, and without him I would not be the person I am today.…

There are few relationships in my life that could compare to the complexity of the relationship that I share with my father. I grew up hearing stories of his childhood when he grew up in a military family with eleven brothers and sisters, moving from state to state in the deep humid south. I grew up idolizing him because of the crazy wacky adventures that he and his older brother (his best friend) would always be involved in. I always pictured myself in his brother’s shoes living the memories along with my father. He lived in a time where kids could run out of the house in the morning and not have to return until the moon rises, a time of peace and simplicity. In retrospect I think my dad and his brother must have the worst neighbors as they terrorized the banks of the bayous getting wrapped up into all sorts of mischief. In his stories he was presented with several choices, some good, some bad, he didn’t always make the best decisions but he always learned from them and engraved in me the importance of learning from my mistakes, a character trait that was deeply seeded into me since the day I could comprehend English. The reason that my fathers’ life lessons have stuck with me so well is because he doesn’t preach to me about good and bad, he lets me live my life and is always there to help me when I screw up allowing me to live and learn. The lessons that are most important in life are the ones you learn from your mistakes, something that my dad taught me and I’d never forget.…
