How To Explore Your Work Opportunities Essay

a) I decided to explore these opportunities as they provided an opportunity to work with children as I have an interest in becoming a teacher. My identified work opportunities will enhance the flourishing of myself as it will teach me to be more patient, communicate better, develop leadership skills and provide me with the chance to learn how to deal with different types of people. Moreover, these work opportunities provides a chance for me to improve public speaking which I struggle with, allow me to create networking, and gain teaching abilities. The gap in these work experiences are that although it provides me with an opportunity to work with children however, it includes working in small groups rather than an entire class of 25-35 students. A method to fill this gap can be that to work as a teacher assistant so it gives a preview of what the environment of teaching several students with one person, the teacher is charge is like.

b) After looking at my classmates’ mind maps I would consider other opportunities. For example, after viewing Debra’s mind map I became interested in the opportunity at volunteering
From this activity I have learn that just attending university and receiving grades is not all that is required to attaining a future with a pleasant job. Volunteering and work experience are also necessary, therefore, I would consider joining a volunteer or work opportunity while attending university. The next step I am going to take toward my preferred future is to obtain a job, I will do this by applying to jobs that require communicating with people, working with children or opportunity for networking. Another step that I can take is to volunteer at my old high school, I have already worked at an elementary school, and therefore it would be nice to see if I would have a similar or dissimilar experience at the high
